Let's Talk Diet and Skin Aging
Now that the new year is coming, take a good look at your diet. Is it making you look older? Yes, we all enjoy treats like cookies, pasta, and soft white bread.
But here's the catch—they turn into sugar in our bodies, affecting our skin.
How:
When we eat refined carbs like bread and pasta, they break down into glucose, a type of sugar. Studies show that sugar can stick to collagen fibers in our skin, messing with its elasticity.
This is called glycation.
Glycation happens when sugar in our blood latches onto proteins like collagen, forming advanced glycation end products (AGEs). This process is linked to skin aging and loss of elasticity.
What can you do? Make some changes in your diet.
Swap out simple carbs for healthier choices. Even small adjustments can not only benefit your skin but also boost your overall health.
Here are some simple diet change suggestions for healthy skin.
