If so, can you tell me which ones are the most important ones to do? I'm over 50, and my face has fallen, and I can't get it back up! The only anti-aging therapy I've done for my face is Botox, but that's not helping to lift or prevent my lower face from drooping.
I don't want to do Ultherapy or something like that because it's expensive and I've heard the results are not that great, so please don't suggest that option. I want the least invasive way for a mini-facelift.”
Hi Sofia,
Thanks for such an honest and relatable question. I've heard this same concern from so many women—and I’ve asked it myself! I totally understand what you're feeling.
Like you, I didn’t want to go the surgery or high-tech route, and Botox just wasn’t doing anything for my lower face. That’s when I really started looking into facial exercises.
And yes—they absolutely helped lift and shape my face, but there are some things to know:
Facial exercises won’t give you a surgical-level facelift, but they can absolutely:
Think of it more like a natural mini-lift over time. In fact, studies have shown that people who do face exercises consistently can look 3–5 years younger than their actual age.
I’ve tried everything over the years—from spiral-bound booklets to cassette tapes (yep, that long ago!). Most were too complicated, too rough on the skin, or just too boring. I could never stick with any of them long enough to see results.
Then I found Carolyn’s Facial Fitness (CFF), and everything changed:
One of the most surprising things I learned? To lift hooded eyelids and sagging jowls, you actually need to start by firming the neck muscles. The face and neck are all connected!
“I’ve noticed lines around my mouth, saggy jowls, and turkey neck. I hate it. I massage my face when applying cream—but what more can I do?”
Bessie’s story really hit home. I used to feel the same way when I looked in the mirror—like everything was heading south. Face massage is a great start and helps with circulation, but facial exercises work the muscles underneath, which is key to getting lift.
When I started doing the CFF program 3x a week for just 15 minutes, I began noticing smoother skin and a more lifted look in under two months. By 12 weeks, I hit what Carolyn calls a “Youth Jump”—a phase where you suddenly look a bit younger than before. I’ve had several of those since starting.
I even took progress photos, which helped me stay motivated. My neck looks so much better. You can see pics here.>
A reader named Bette123 commented that she had a deep plane facelift but started using face exercises afterward to maintain her results. I couldn’t agree more—surgery can reposition skin, but it doesn’t improve muscle tone or skin quality. Exercises help maintain that firmness and improve your overall glow.
You can even do them while watching TV. 😊
Facial exercises won’t replace a facelift, but in my experience, they’ve been the most natural, affordable, and empowering way to refresh my face—and I’ve stuck with them for years. They’re now part of my routine, just like brushing my teeth.
If you want to see a sample exercise, before & after pictures, or the chart showing which muscles each move targets, you can see them here in my my facial exercises results.
